Shopping for the Right Winter Coat to Match your Body Type

It is winter time once again and it’s the time to make a major revamp on your closet to update to the latest winter collection. Take note that when shopping for your winter coat, there are quite a few factors to consider. Shopping for a winter coat that will be perfect for your body type is a must. You need to get a coat that will make you look long and lean as much as possible and the style should accentuate your body shape and proportions. It is also notable to get neutral colored coats too so you won’t have difficulty matching them with your clothes.

For short women around five feet tall, the goal is to make you look long and as tall looking as much as possible. Short women look best in a coat that is knee-length. This will put emphasis on her legs from the knee and down further making her appear much taller than she really is.

More than average tall women need to find coats with a proportion that would be perfect for their height. A maxi coat would probably only look too short on tall women and 7/8 coats for others may seem like a 3/4 coat for them. So for tall women, specialty cuts are advised for a more customized coat length.

For plus-size women, a great fashion statement would be not to hide their bodies. Wearing a tarp like jacket over your clothes and further topped with a long, body skimming coat, will give voluptuous women more lean silhouette. Wearing a line coats is a fashion suicide for women with fuller figures.
